The purpose of these letter forms is to be interchangeable and unique, providing countless possibilities for constructing letters so that no two uses are quite the same, although they maintain visual consistency at large.
The concept started with a grid. Since I was laying out the letter forms using a symmetrical grid, I started by designing 14 patterns that could fit inside the grid squares. Next, I designed seven shapes that took form by manipulating a square. These serve as the glyphs that make up the flexible typeface.
