With just an iPhone and a jewelry loupe, I’ve recorded thousands of fine details all around me — in my home, outside, on the street. When I am examining magnified details through a loupe, everything becomes still. The subject sits plainly in front of me, and yet, its truth is only visible when I look through a tiny hole. With more detail to consider, every part of an observation suddenly comes to life.
I hope this book inspires viewers to practice seeing details first and subjects second. There are so many beautiful things around us waiting to be discovered, and their aesthetic value is available to us if only we take a moment to get close.
